To develop an apologetical, ethical and research platform, whose purpose is to defend and promote Christian principles in a morally arbitrary society now in constant cultural decline. From Guatemala we roll the vision out to the Spanish-speaking world.

 Our Identity

We are a pro-active think tank that shapes, educates and responds to, by means of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the 3 contemporary moral dilemmas:

1 - The demise of the nuclear family.

2 - The decline in ethical behavior.

3 - The superficiality of Christian thinking.

Whom Do We Want to Reach?

The Instituto CRUX aims to reach primarily those who are struggling today, particularly university students and young professionals. Many, but not all, are professing Christians who are facing the dilemmas of the surrounding reality, changing their ways and practices apart from their traditional upbringing.

Direction is needed to help them find answers in order to equip and give structure to their thinking against the challenges of modern moral reasoning.

OUR DESIRED OUTCOMES

We see a Christian community faithfully applying the Judeo-Christian ethical principles in their different areas of influence (religion, family, education, government, media, arts and entertainment and business).

We see families equipped with the tools to fortify their Biblical identity, strengthening the Church and society as a whole.

We see a core company of Latin American intellectual, social and ecclesiastical leaders employing Christian critical thinking to further human flourishing and fulfillment.

THE ORIGINS OF THE CRUX INSTITUTE

“May God bless it with enough foolishness to believe that we can make a difference in this world, so that we can do what others claim cannot be done...”

Dr. Gonzalo Chamorro, iCRUX Executive Director

The Instituto CRUX came into existence after a series of dialogues and proposals between Gonzalo A. Chamorro and Dr. Guillermo D. Taylor about the creation of a think tank (or center of thought) of Christian orientation comprising various investigative experts with vast experience in ecclesiastical ministry.

The “draft” initial purpose was to respond – from a Judeo-Christian perspective – to a globalist agenda with an eminently secular humanistic background whose motive is to destroy the institutions created by God (nuclear family and Church) and hence the moral foundations of Christianity.

The first step to this proposal was to convene a group of Christian scholars and ministers to consider and pray about the creation of an entity that would promote “ethics and culture, Christian thought, and the defense of family within the Latin American context”. The conclusion of this meeting was a common agreement between all attendees to immediately create a space that would meet the problem outlined in the draft.

In a second stage of short-term proposals, various Latin American Christian leaders well recognized around the globe, contributed extensively to the design and implementation of the Instituto CRUX.

Our desire for this initiative is what Francis of Assisi expressed: “May God bless it with enough foolishness to believe that we can make a difference in this world, so that we can do what others claim cannot be done...” [1]
